A wingback bed with the proportions of an old upholstered chair: a tall headboard that rises to a soft arch in the middle, wings that curl forward at each side, and a padded rail that wraps all the way round to a low footboard. It is covered in a nubby ivory canvas that reads almost like linen, and it stands on turned solid oak legs in a warm walnut finish, just high enough to show the floor. Underneath, a metal frame runs under the bed and up behind the headboard, with wood slats over it: no box spring, no creaks, and a thousand pounds of support. It makes a room feel finished on its own.
