A corner sofa that turns a spare wall into a guest room. The Lafayette is an even 81 inches on both sides, so it tucks into a square corner and seats five, and when someone stays over the seat on one wing slides out into a bed. Bedding goes in the storage under the seats, phones charge from the ports built into the frame, and a cup holder sits in each arm. Wide-wale corduroy over a reinforced wood frame with coil springs underneath: soft to the hand, firm to sit on.

  • Two equal 81 in wings meet at a square corner, and the pull-out wing can be set on the left or the right when it is assembled, so it suits either corner of the room.
  • A pull-out bed slides from under one wing on a steel frame with rolling feet: 59.7 in long and about 60.5 in wide, sized for a child or a curled-up adult rather than a full-length sleeper.
  • Three colors of the same wide-wale corduroy: beige, a warm oat that reads cream in daylight; grey, a cool slate with a blue cast; and green, a deep moss that goes olive in sun and forest at night. A deep, even rib that catches the light; soft and warm to the touch and easy to brush clean.
  • Reinforced wood frame with coil springs under the seats and high-resilience foam over them: a soft, supportive sit at a 16.3 in seat height and 19.8 in seat depth. Each seat carries up to 400 pounds.
  • Hidden storage under the seats for bedding and throws, a USB-A and a USB-C charging port built in, and a cup holder set into the top of each slim 6 in arm.
  • Assembled, it measures 81 in on each side and 33 in high, on low plastic feet that will not mark a floor. Arrives in four cartons, which may ship on different days; the step-by-step instructions and tool kit come in the box.
