A bed that holds a closet's worth underneath it. Lift the foot of the deck and it rises on pneumatic struts, slats and all, to open the whole base: a floor-level chest the full size of a king for the spare duvet, the winter coats and the suitcases, with the mattress held in place as it goes up. Closed, it reads as a quiet piece of furniture — a low fluted box in warm walnut with a tall wingback headboard in the same reeding, softened at the corners, the flutes running floor to top so the whole bed looks carved from one block. An iron frame and a slat deck rated to a thousand pounds do the work; no legs, no gap, nothing collecting dust underneath.
- Lift storage: the slatted deck rises on pneumatic struts from the foot to open the entire base, 11.8 in deep and the full footprint of the bed. The mattress stays put as it lifts.
- Fluted all round: the headboard, its wings and all four sides of the base carry a fine vertical reeding in a walnut wood grain, with rounded corners where the wings meet the base.
- A wingback headboard, 44.49 in high, with side wings that wrap 5.9 in forward and a 23.6 in fluted panel across the top.
- An iron lift frame with wood slats carries the mattress directly, rated for 1,000 lb — no box spring.
- MDF panels with a wood-grain face over pine; the base sits straight on the floor, so there is no dust gap underneath.
